Complete Industrial Electrical Solutions, Built for the NT

When your systems go down, everything stops.

TEC Automation builds, maintains and fixes the electrical systems Territory operations depend on - from Defence sites and water infrastructure to manufacturing plants, commercial facilities and remote NT operations.

Founded in 2019 by Ryan Smith and Soraya Smith, we work across Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek and remote Northern Territory, turning up when others won’t and solving problems others can’t.

From scheduled maintenance and fault finding to full system builds and urgent callouts, we get in, get it working and make sure it stays that way.

We work on the systems operations rely on - and fix them properly.

What we handle:

  • Automation & control systems

  • BMS & SCADA systems

  • Switchboards - build, upgrade & repair

  • Fire protection & compliance systems

  • Emergency faults & critical failures

Built for real Territory conditions. Backed by rapid response, practical experience and long-term reliability.

Territory-wide coverage
with local expertise

We are Territory-owned and operated with teams on the ground in Darwin and Katherine. We respond quickly across urban, regional and remote sites.

One team,
start to finish

Automation, switchboards, fire systems, maintenance and emergency response - handled by one crew who knows your site, your people and your instruments.

Indigenous-owned & operated

creating local opportunity & impact

TEC Automation is a proudly Indigenous-owned and Territory-based business, with local teams in Darwin and Katherine and the ability to service the entirety of the NT.

We weren’t built just to deliver work - we were built to do it differently.

Too often, high-level electrical and automation work in the NT is delivered without building local capability.

We’re working to change that.

That means:

  • Building local Aboriginal capability in the services we provide

  • Creating training and development pathways

  • Giving our team exposure to high-level systems and projects

  • Building a workforce that can deliver this work long-term in the Territory

We operate across the NT every day - not remotely, not occasionally.

This is about more than projects.
It’s about building something that lasts - for our team, our community and the Territory.
